Hawaii, the Big Island
Island of Adventure
The youngest island is still growing with spewing molten lava from the earth’s depths to create new land. Diverse is the word most commonly used to describe her natural beauty. The Hamakua Coast has vertical cliffs adorned with abundant waterfalls and is dotted with deep valleys. The geography ranges from volcanic desert , cool countryland, snow capped peaks to rain forest. The Big Island boasts 266 miles of coastlines with beaches of white, gold, green and black sands. Explorers search the night sky on the top of Mauna Kea where there are 3 active telescopes.

The Big Island is large, un-crowded with a lot of open space. A not to miss sight is visiting the Volcano’s National Park and then hiking out to the beach where you can see the lava pour into the ocean. While in the Hilo area be sure to visit the numerous waterfalls and botanical gardens.

On the drier Kona side you’ll be amazed at the numberous black lava fields. Beaches here tend to be rocky with great tide pools to play and snorkel in. No visit would be complete without visiting the coffee museum and picking up some of the islands Kona Coffee.
